The Philosophy
Philosophical concepts of yoga are introduced in a way that is relevant to todays world. Frequently the physical practice of yoga holds more interest than the more subtle aspects, such as pranayama.
Prana is the energy that flows in and around the body. Learning pranayama breathing techniques and using them in daily activites, as well as in a yoga class, can be helpful in modern, busy times. Developing a breathing practice can support the nervous system to help reduce the effects of stress.
An understanding of Prana is not compulsory to a yoga student enjoying the physical components of their class, but is made accessible in case the subject be of interest.
All things are connected by Prana and as human beings, having an understanding of Prana or energy can help us to feel in tune with all other living beings, our environment, and the planet.
